Flight Simulator

I went down to Hill Air Force on Friday for some job interviews. They showed us a few of the projects that they were working on. They had the sweetest flight simulator ever. I was the only one in our group that got to do it. The room it was in was rounded (the picture I founded online has a room that is more square) with projectors displaying the what the pilot would be seeing out of the cockpit. It felt really real. I did barrel rolls, steep banks, and a few loops. It was really neat.

Pizza! Yum. yum!

So those who know me well know that i am into coupon shopping these days. I love it! So anyway I got a load of Pillsbury grand biscuits the other day fro a great price and got the idea from a lady in my ward to make mini pizzas.

Well the great thing is that I made 8 pizzas for about a $1 since I also got the sauce, cheese and meat for great prices (using coupons)! Another great thing, you can freeze them! So I made about 16 of them and then froze half of them. All I have to do now to feed Henrik is pull one out and throw it in the microwave for 1 min, it's great! Plus I actually like the flaky crust from the biscuit dough and they take very little time to make.

Any other ideas about how to use my biscuits?

Faith

This is one of my favorite paintings of Christ. It portrays the story of the Christ and rich young man from the New Testament. It also happens to be one of my favorite scripture stories too.

The link below is a new web page put out by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I really like it and thought I would share.

Crying from the dust!

After reading and listening to lots of media sources today I am distressed. There is so much evil in the world today. I can not help but think of the voices from the past that are just crying out for us to do something and to stand up for truth and righteousness.

I do not care what religion, what political party, or what race you are truth is truth. Please I beg all of you - including myself- to not let your standard fall, do not let other make choices for you. Stand up for truth!

Betty Crocker or not? That is the Question.

So, these are 6 of the 7 Apple Pie fillings I recently canned. Yes I know they are beautiful. Well at least I think so. You see these are the first jars I have canned in my life (unless you count watching my grandma and mom so it when I was young). This was a perfect time for me to do them too because I have been on a Betty Crocker roll, which means I have actually cooked meals for my family several nights in a row and even made freezer meals for those nights I don't want to cook. Needless to say, I have been feeling pretty good about myself lately.............................. well until tonight.

The picture below is a meal I attempted today. I kind of of ruined the chicken if you didn't notice. It was very tough, dry and well. the sauce was burnt to a crisp. This is why I should only cook things in my crockpot. So the questions is ... am I really turning into Betty Crocker or is this a sign that I should just stick to George Foremans, Crockpots and microwaves????

The Family

I am just thinking about this today and thought I would share this proclamation with everyone who reads our blog. It was introduced in 1995 at a General Relief Society meeting (the meeting for all the women in the church) by the former Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley (he passed away this last year).

The Family: A Proclamation to the World

We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.

In the premortal realm, spirit sons and daughters knew and worshiped God as their Eternal Father and accepted His plan by which His children could obtain a physical body and gain earthly experience to progress toward perfection and ultimately realize his or her divine destiny as an heir of eternal life. The divine plan of happiness enables family relationships to be perpetuated beyond the grave. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.

The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.

We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan.

Husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. Husbands and wives—mothers and fathers—will be held accountable before God for the discharge of these obligations.

The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.

We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.

We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.
