Finals Week for Daniel

This last week was my finals week. I finished up a few interesting projects. One was a stereo amplifier. The another was a game controller for the game BZFLAG.

We used resistors, capacitors, and operational amplifiers to make this stereo amplifier.

The amplifier had volume, microphone volume, treble, bass, and balance control.

Proposition 8 Song

Our cousin Jared put together this video and wrote this song about Proposition 8 - He said the following about it, "The passing of Proposition 8 has started a war over moral values. Not rights, love, hate, bigotry, discrimination, or any of those things. No mormon hates gay people. Refusing to yield on moral matters does not equal hate. ...
He wrote a song about the "controversy" over proposition 8, and made a video to go with it. Have a listen!

Turbo Jam

Some of you asked me to tell you how Turbo Jam goes...well I like it so much I ordered it for myself, with weight gloves and all. I think it's more fun than a lot of things I have done.

If any of you have any success stories of exercise, and healthy eating especially after having a child PLEASE share. I like to be motivated. In fact I have decided those days I feel like being super lazy and want to eat a lot I will post a blog and ask for motivating experiences. That way I can feel that motivation again, and again!

Amazing Daniel!!!!!

CONGRATS DANIEL!
Since May of 2008, Daniel has run 343 miles, or the distance from his parents house in Parma to our house in Rexburg.
This was done training for marathons, running marathons, cross country practices,
cross country meets, and other races.

I have found a couple pics of these events and have placed them below. We are so proud of Daniel and his accomplishment. He is a very determined man. Next year I think he plans on running even more (mostly to train for his marathons). We eventually want to have him run one on every continent (that way we can see the world)!

Teton Dam Marathon - June 2008 - He's in the red.

Cross Country Meet- October 2008

This is after the race yesterday. (Keith is on another team than Daniel at BYU-I.)
Congrats Daniel!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!

Henrik at the race!

So Daniel had a race today and we took Henrik so he could play and support dad! As you will read above this race was a milestone for Daniel, so we thought it was worth celebrating, plus it was a nice day. For those who crave lots of pictures of Henrik (like Julene and Mom) you can look on my facebook account.

GREAT deal!

I just thought I would share a great deal with everyone.

We order our picture prints through an on-line company called snapfish.com anyway they have a great deal right now, and if you sign up for their e-mail you may be able to get it. They are offering a three day sale of 50 pics for one penny each. They have done it before and we ordered pics to send to all the grandparents, great-grandparents, and missionaries.

Just sharing the info! They do a good job.

Janel

p.s. I prefer their matted finish on the pictures FYI.

Obsessed

So I found this really cool game while blog surfing the other day that Daniel and I became obsessed over for a day. I spent two hours trying to figure one level out. Once we thought out of the box it was much easier to do.

Anyway I am giving you the link so you can torture your brains too. It's actually quite fun, and challenging. It has to do with physics I guess (You build machines that take an object from one spot to another).

HINT: Think out of the box. You may want to look at least one example to try and get an idea of what you are suppose to do.

good luck! Tell us how you do!

Drama, or should I say trauma?

Okay so last night Henrik got his elbow popped out of place and well let's just say he was in pain and was crying almost all night. He did fall asleep in Daddy's arms but woke up all through the night to let me know he still was in major pain. Well after a night of me bawling along with Henrik we got into the doctor and they popped his elbow back in in two seconds. Well he screamed of course but once he calmed down I showed him that he could use it again and all was well. Then we got home and he was super grouchy from no sleep, needless to say he is sleeping now. Thank goodness!

While I am talking about trauma..........did I tell you that I bought a new exercise machine and decided to lift it up our stairs by myself. Well that was not wise since I fell backwards down the stairs and it landed on top of me. Mostly it was really embarrassing, so I looked around to make sure nobody saw, but I knew I would pay for my actions. So for over a week (maybe two now), I have had three large deep bruises (and several other pains) on the right side of my body, all in the name of exercise!

HAPPY B-DAY DAD!

Dad we hope your B-day is great! Thanks for all you have done for us! We love you lots!

10 things we love about Grandpa Jorgensen
1. He has the funniest laugh!
2. He is very giving to others in need.
3. He has always worked hard (sometimes 3-4 jobs) to make a better life for his family.
4. He gives great big bear hugs!
5. He always appreciated Daniel's jokes (even when Janel doesn't)!
6. He gave his initials to his favorite child, JDJ
7. When Dad gives a compliment you KNOW it's real.
8. he's really bad at lying (that way we could always tell when he was trying to pull our leg).
9. He does a great Dog Jaw impression
10. He loves his family very much - he has a very tender heart, and a strong testimony of Christ.

Love ya Dad, Jesse, Grandpa.......!

catch up!

So our lives in a nutshell starting with the Pocatello Marathon.

POCATELLO MARATHON

We haven't mentioned yet that we stayed with the Ferrara Family. David Ferrara use to be our seminary teacher. We have stayed there twice and visited 4-5 times. It is always so fun and the little girls LOVE my husband! I like it cause it showed Daniel that a lot of little girls are fun too (he thinks we are going to have all boys). Anyway they have a great theater room and we watched Penelope and I thought it was a great, and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good moral story.
THANK YOU to the Ferrara family they were soooooo fun!

BABY WATCH

Daniel's little sister came up to help me with Henrik while I prepared for check-ins. I couldn't have done it without her! Thank you! (for those who don't know we manage apartments)

UNCLES and AUNT

So Ben, Stephen, Kent and Brooke are all up here now. We of course miss Julene, but are glad to have so much family up here. In the winter Julene will be added to our list of family in Rexburg. Henrik loves to see them and loves all the attention he gets from them and the girls from the apartments. He eats it up!

FAT BURNING
So Brooke and I have started exercising every week 2-3 days. We do Turbo Jam and it is painful for a woman who hasn't done any exercise since the 4th of July when she did the "FUN RUN" (I don't know why they call it that, cause it is NOT fun!) Anyway I still have 30 pounds hanging around from my pregnancy and felt like I needed to get on it, now that I am done nursing and life has settled a bit. Wish us luck! THANK YOU TO UNCLE KENT WHO WATCHES HENRIK!!!!!!!!

BANDS AND RUNNING

So Daniel and his brothers have got together and have a band now. I can't remember the name cause it's weird but they are trying out for a few things on campus. If they make it we will add the video. Daniel also made it on a cross country team here at BYU-I to try and keep in shape to run marathons. His first meet is this Sat. wish him luck!

SICK
So Henrik got sick and then Daniel and I got sick, then Stephen, then Kent, then Brooke, then Ben.......and heaven knows how many more. It was not fun getting up every hour to comfort Henrik but I knew he needed extra love. He was throwing up and just lying around, but don't worry he is back to his super wiggly and happy self!

Well those are the main things. Have a great day!

Janel

Super Funny!

Henrik's first time standing

This the first time Henrik was able to pull himself up into a standing position.

Twin Falls Temple Youth Cultural Celebration

We went to Twin Falls this week because Daniel was helping out with the Twin Falls Temple Youth Cultural Celebration. There was a large team from the LDS Church's A/V Productions and a small group of us from BYU-Idaho A/V Productions
.

We had a nice hotel room. Daniel was convinced that Henrik thought that his parents had come into a large amount money, because the hotel was very fancy.

We went to Shoshone Falls while we were in Twin Falls.

President Monson was at the celebration. Janel tried to get a picture of him as he came in. Alas, our digital camera is a little slow. All we got was his hand.

Daniel was excited to be able to operate a camera for the Celebration. He was asked to do the handheld camera. With the handheld he was able to get "right in the people's grills" (Daniel's words)
